FAQs

How does an e-bike work?

E-bikes have different levels of pedal assistance, allowing you to get as much or as little help as needed. The motor helps with carrying loads or getting to your destination without getting overheated. Some e-bikes also come with a hand throttle, so you don't have to pedal at all.

Are e-bikes safe?

E-bikes are tested for safety. It is important that you adhere to safety standards and local laws, including wearing a helmet.

Do I need to wear a helmet?

Yes, helmets are required by law in New Zealand and are provided free of charge with rentals.

What do I need to bring when I pick up my bike?

You will need to bring a form of ID, such as a driver's license or passport, and sometimes a credit card.

Can I test ride the bike before renting?

Yes, you are usually welcome to test ride the bike to ensure it is the right fit and tuned up.

Are there options for long-term rentals?

Yes, we offer long-term rental or subscription options, which can be more cost-effective.

Can I rent to buy?

We don't offer rent-to-buy options at this time.

What if the battery runs out during my ride?

You can still pedal the bike like a regular bike, return to the shop for a quick charge or call for assistance.
